The organic Egyptian cotton really does feel different from the cheaper blankets we had before — noticeably softer against my newborn's cheeks, no scratchiness at all. Even after a few washes it's stayed that buttery texture, which I honestly wasn't expecting.
I've washed this blanket at least ten times already and it still feels just as buttery as the day it arrived. The GOTS-certified Egyptian cotton is noticeably softer than the regular receiving blankets I had with my first baby, and it hasn't pilled once.
The cotton really does feel softer than the standard receiving blankets I had with my first, and it's held up fine through a few washes. Only gripe is that it's a bit smaller than I pictured, so it won't last long once she starts stretching out.
