The wide brim actually stays put on my son's head, which I didn't expect since he's constantly grabbing at hats. Tying it under the chin keeps it from flying off at the park, and the organic cotton doesn't irritate his skin at all.
The cotton is so light my daughter forgets she's wearing it, and the chin ties keep it from flying off at the park. Washed it twice already and it's still soft and white, no shrinking.
